Bio

Hi!  My name is Heather Bryson.  I started teaching at a private high school in the Florida Panhandle in the 2005-06 school year. I’ve taught Music from the very beginning, but also have also spent a year teaching a math class, and started teaching computer science classes in the 2008-09 school year.

I earned a BA in Music Performance from the University of West Florida, my instrumental emphasis in Percussion.  Becoming a teacher was low of my list of potential jobs, but an opportunity presented itself at a most financially desparate time.  It turned out to be quite an interesting journey.

I recieve my professional teaching certificate after completing an Educator’s Preparatory Institute at Pensacola Junior College.  I don’t know what will come next in my own education, and whether I will continue as a teacher after I move from the area.  On the other hand, I’m considering applying to teach abroad as a DOD teacher.  I see no changes for at least two years while my better half, Mike, finishes his degree in Accounting.
